Live Photos – taking you and your iPhone 6S and 6S Plus to Hogwarts

If you have a plan to buy a new iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus, you will now have the power to convert all the pictures you click into videos, thanks to the all new feature launched by Apple, known as Live Photos feature. The all new iPhones, the 6S and the 6S Plus, which was released on the 25th of September on a global scale, shoot three second videos to accompany all the pictures you click, including all the selfies you selfie holics have a habit of clicking throughout the day. This does sound quite promising and exciting for all the people looking for a unique feature.

Let us look at a fun example of this feature. Image your kid’s birthday party, and he or she is blowing out his or her candles on the birthday cake. You can click a photo which will see the candles going out, and there will also be background audio of people singing happy birthday – such is the magic of the Live Photos feature. This feature can also be used in case of other landscapes and your pets and toddlers. This feature cannot be used on any other phone other than the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus variants, but the content can be viewed on any iPhone variant.

Let us now look at some useful tips about how to use this Live Photos feature effectively. Read on to find out more on this topic.

Clicking the picture

After opening the camera application of your phone, the iPhone keeps on recording video in the background, but the recordings are deleted as soon as you have made no move to use the videos. When you click a picture, the camera application records 1.5 seconds before and after the shot. So, the entire animation becomes a 3 second video.

If you are using this feature, make it a point to wait for 2 or 3 seconds so that the new animation does not show you setting your phone in place. Do the same thing after clicking the picture. A new software update is in the making, which will automatically detect any movement and stop recording the video – so you won’t have the problem of video being recorded whenever you turn on the camera application.

You need to ask your friends and family members to hold their poses and pouts a little bit longer than usual. If they fail to do so, the video will definitely showcase such movements. Try to click the video in natural lighting, because if you use the flash, the lens flare may ruin the animation.

If you want to view such a Live Photo on your smartphone, you can simply do so using the Photos application on your phone. The same can be done on the all new Apple Watch as well. Using the Photos app on Mac, the Live Photo can be viewed on any Macbook or Mac OS PC. It’s actually a Harry Potter feeling if you think about it.
